Chill Out and Read Winter Reading Program

  • Date: 01/01/2024  (all day)

January 1-February 29, 2024 


Wrap up in a warm blanket, toss some marshmallows in your hot cocoa, and Chill Out and Read. The Winter Reading Program is open to all ages with unique prizes for each age group.  For youth ages 0-12, every 100 minutes read earns you a prize and a chance in our grand prize drawing! Teens ages 13-18 and adults who read a minimum of 300 minutes by February 29 will be entered into a prize drawing for gift cards.  Awards will also be given for the teen and adult who read the most minutes. Kids can call Dial-a-story at (252) 265-5570 (English) or (252) 265-8433 (En EspaƱol) to hear a story read out loud.

Staff is available Monday through Saturday at the Main Library, 9am to 6pm, to answer questions and help you use our online resources, including downloading eBooks. Call 252-237-5355 for assistance.

Photos will be taken at library programs and events. If you prefer that your photo not be taken, please inform the staff member in charge of the event.

Some programs are funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant awarded to the Wilson County Public Library for the creation of a CrAFT Studio - Creativity, Art, Fabrication, and Technology lab. The CrAFT Studio will combine the Makerspace movement with STEAM subjects through robotics, coding, crafts, electronics, and more.
